no start

I started the car.  been sitting for awhile so engine was cold.  in less than a minute the cooling fan came on...then it stopped...then the rpm went from around 800 to about 2500, so I shut it off.  Now I can't start it.

The first thing to do is check the car for stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes. There may or may not be some stored. You can get an inexpensive code reader at any auto parts store if the car is not driveable. They plug in under the dash and will read generic OBDII codes. Start with that then come back here and post what you do or don't find
