Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi there,

My 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe, cranks but no start. No negative pulse to the
injectors.
The car was running and I forgot the key inside. The doors locked and the
had to force drive´s door to open. When I turned the engine off and then,
tried to turn it on again, it won´t start since then.
I checked battery is good, fuel pressure is good, but no negative pulse to
the injector. I removed the injectors and tested it, don´t work.

Can you please help me fixing this issue?

The anti theft system is likely causing the NO start, is the light flashing 5 every secs indicating normal operation?

Without you explaining how you forced the door open, can only guess you ruined something in the anti theft circuit.

Hi JP, I used a wrench to slightly open the door and using a piece of steel wire, I managed to open driver´s door from the handle.

Hi Auto_Centric, there is no light flashing. Where is the light located?

Viktor, it is a tiny flashing light on the top of the dashboard all the way down near the windshield inside a tiny black dome, behind the steering wheel. Any visible damage anywhere on the door where you forced it? Maybe the latch moved out of alignment from forcing it.

The vehicle was unlocked without remote, its waiting for the RF signal to tell it to unlock, and that entry is valid (door switch signal from door being opened).. that's the criteria for ETACS Hyundai waiting for unlock signal it did not get. Try: Key in ignition cylinder, turn to run position, wait 2 alarm cycles for ETACS detection of key in ignition cylinder and key on... then turn to crank the car. NEXT Known issue, 1.Suspect immobilizer antenna. It is behind the plastic steering column shroud and circles the ignition cylinder. It reads the key when you put it in the ignition and signals the PCM vehicles computer, via RFID key to start the engine. Try starting with your other key 3-5 times.

You guys helped me saving U$D 2500, on a Garage. Few days ago I contacted a Hyundai garage and the Tech said that I would pay this amount to fix the problem. Thank you so much!

Yeah, JP and Auto_Centric you guys are amazing. The issue was with the chip inside the key. It had been removed once recently in the shop: I could see the marks. May be the chip was not placed correctly. So, I collected all your input and youtube the principal of operation for an immobilizer. I turned re- positioned the chip, turned the key in run and waited for about 10 minutes and turned off. When, I turned it on again, the immobilizer signal light was on and able to start the engine. One thing I now know for sure, not to mess with doors. Thank you Team
