My Audi TT is making a weird sound from the turbo

Asked by May 16, 2017 at 01:06 PM about the 2003 Audi TT quattro Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 Audi TT Quattro that started sounding
really loud lately like a Honda Civic. I thought it was
an exhaust leak so I went and had it looked at and
the guy told me he couldn't find a leak and it
seemed like the sound was coming from the turbo.
He pointed out a hole in the part of the turbo that
the wastegate actuator arm connects to. The hole
ha threads in it like a bolt needed to be in there. I'm
not sure what to do. I'll try and post a pic of what
I'm talking about. Thanks
