2005 GMC Sierra both front brake calipers locking up

Asked by daradorman Sep 13, 2020 at 11:56 AM about the 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Crew Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What would cause both front brake calipers
to lock up? Took it to shop and they
replaced front pads and calipers.  I picked it
up and made it about 10 miles and it locked
up again

Try replacing ur fluid n check rubber seal on resevoir . Mine got moisture(water) in fluid . Brake fluid absorbs water n water expands more than brake fluid in ur line locking ur brakes up .reservoir gasket not sealing or cap or both ,if so fix then new fluid , hope this helps . One thing more this is rare n not much is online about it but sounds like the problem i had $20 fluid cap or seal n bleed ur brakes , next time u lock em up open bleedr valve realese pressure if its water u will see steam n itll unlock brakes
