I have a 2001 gmc sierra transmission is strong in
reverse but no forward gears at all and when it is put
in gear the engine revs up to 3k rpm’s by its self I
jacked up the rears wheels and the did move forward
intermittently

If the car will move in reverse but won’t go forward, the likely cause is worn out solenoids, clutches, or gears. Check the transmission fluid, as a low level is a potential reason for making the car move in reverse only.

Fluid is good it is a 2wd truck but I am getting a c1500 trouble code which is transfer case encoder circuit b fault and when put in any gear other then reverse it idles up extremely high I am bum founded because no burnt fluid and trans worked perfect one day and it sat for a month and now nothing but reverse
