Truck wont start

97 gmc sierra with a 350 wont start i have to open my
hood and open my trothle body while some one starts it
and ill start but will die after a minute can some one tell
me whats wrong with it

I see this is old, but try unplugging your MAF sensor to see if it starts without it.
