Steering wheel problem

when I am turning the steering wheel will. How do I
explain it. It will just turn and seem like it popes out
of place so when I turn it the wheels don't turn. I
don't know what is wrong with it and I don't want to
bring it to a maicanic I would like to fix it myself
does anyone have any ideas what could be going
on.

Probably the steering column connector under the hood by the steering box. There is a round rubber connector. Look under the hood, driver's side, for the steering column. Follow it towards the front, you should see the connector.
