Besides air in the system, you might want to test, inspect or replace the thermostat, it might be stuck in the closed position.

Boiling doesn't sound good . Did you do the work or was it a " mechanic " ? With over heating you go with the simplest . Coolant condition and level , new thermostat . I've seen the engine bay of a pt cruiser and I wouldn't change a water pump unless I either did a compression test and/or checked for flow rate . I would assume if you have good heat then the water pump is good . And if the coolant isn't corroded then the radiator is probably O.K. At any rate a good mechanic shouldn't replace parts without some kind of test because now after that you still have the problem , boiling sounds like a blown head gasket and that cruiser is junk at that age , especially if it boils soon after starting before it has a chance to get hot ., I think .

Do a flush on system , may be the heater coil is plugged, also the coolent is breaking down ,next would be the thermostat, hope this helps
