My car started having problems with staying in 5th gear. Every time I put it in 5th, it would pop out. So I rode it in 4th, then it started having problems going in any gear, or reverse. I had to force it into the gear to get it to go in. about 30 minutes later the car died on me and I couldn't get it to go in any gear or reverse. It will start, but when you put it in 1st, and try to move it's like the emergency brake is locked and is keeping the car from moving.

Yeah that seems to be a common problem with PT Cruisers. I would take it into the manufacture if you can afford it.
