Asked by Jun 22, 2017 at 07:55 AM about the 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Limited Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 pt cruiser and when I first start to drive when i put it into 4 gear
and mostly 5th gear the speedometer surges to 120 and the car surges and
acts like it not getting gas, this goes on for several miles initially and then most
of the time clears up.

Is your clutch starting to slip?

no it is not, It has popped out of 5th gear a couple of times but no slippage, I thought it might be the output sensor or the camshaft sensor, any ideas?
