Car has stopped on the past, I had it tuned up and battery replaced a few weeks ago. I use premium and mid-range gas. I also had the engine flushed as well last week and noticed that steam came from the resivor. This hadn't happened until I had the engine flushed.

Sounds more like you have a bad starter. If possible, jack up the front of your car. Locate the starter. Have someone hold the key to the ON position like they are trying to start the engine. While they are holding the key, rap on the starter with a hammer. If the car suddenly tries to start, that means your starter is shot. Time for a new one. If it were the crank position sensor, the car would still crank over. Typically, when the sensor is bad, the car will start, die, and not restart until much later.

my 1996 ford taurus gl when going down the road and coming to a full stop. the car will not move unless you put it in neutral and back to drive it will then go down the road.
