My truck died while driving. Tried to
jump start it but made a buzz sound,
clicked once then smoke came from
starter. Replaced starter and had
same result, buzz, one click, smoke

Hi hornet, I thought it might have seized but there were no horrible sounds when it died, was just as if I shut the truck off. I’m going to see if I can turn the crank with a breaker bar later. But there’s lots of oil, didn’t overheat, just stopped
Engine is likely locked up. Try to turn the engine with a wrench at the crankshaft pulley. Make sure the key is NOT in the ignition when you do this.
