My 1998 ford expidition starter made a loud
screech while driving and then it stopped so i
decided to stop n check at first i did not see
anything appearent at first so i tried to get back in
n leave but my expidition wouldnt start so i tried a
jump n it wouldnt i checked my starter n it looks
completely burned its black n plastic parts are
melted anyone know why n how i can trace me
problem n fix it?

Trace the "S" wire on the solenoid back, it is probably burned or shorted to the battery cable or another positive wire.
