If the temp goes up while driving, then the water pump may be the issue. If you keep driving with this problem, you risk warping the head and blowing a head gasket. Is the 'check engine' light on?

Cooling fan, radiator, low antifreeze or vacuum line. Diagnostics will reveal the problem
