Question type: General

I bought a used 2006 Chevy 1500 2WD Cerw cab and it was broken into last weekend.  When I called about the locking mechinisim for the door they agent asked me for the VIN # once I gave them the number he aske me about the engine size I told him it was the 6.0, He told me that according to the VIN it was a 4. something.  Im smartenough to know that the engine was more than likely swaped out.  Which would mean that the miliage on the actual truck is not the same as the engine in the truck.  Any ideas on what I need to do if anything?  Not very comfortable knowing the local car lots are swaoing engines although I am happier with a 6.0 vs 4.whatever.  Just crourious.

The 8th digit in your vin number is the engine code. A V=4.8 v8, N= 6.0 v8, Z= 5.3 v8, X=4.3 V6.

Call the dealer you bought the truck from and explain the situation. If they do not want to take care of it,tell them you will drive THE F'N truck through the showroom
