Brake hose replacement

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm replacing the front right (passenger)
side brake hose on my 2004 Chevy
1500 2wd. I took off the OE hose and
looking at it I can not figure out how to
remove the braket on the hard line (not
the end to screws into the caliper) end
of the hose. Do I need it? And the banjo
bolt wont pop out. On the OE hose are
they fixed into to brake hose?

I did. I bought the new rubber hose that runs from the caliper to the hard line behind the fender well. But it didn't come with a bracket to mount to the frame like old one does and the old hose the banjo bolt wont come off to use on the new hose

I did that too, I have not had luck with it on my own but i had a friend help out and got it done. If anyone that dont know the retainer pops out then you can remove the bracket to put on the new hoses.
