I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado Z71 and I have an evap code, p0455.  I have
replace everything except the pump and the fuel tank pressure sensor.  The
issue other than the check engine light is, I can not pump gas normally.
When i pump gas I have to pump at the slowest setting. So, i have to hold
the trigger, because the neck fills up and spits gas all over the place.If I try to
pump gas with the truck running, the truck will stall.  Starting from a stop,
there is a hesitation and coming to a stop, the truck acts like it wants to stall.  
sometimes, not all the time, when i shut the truck off, the truck will act like it
wants to stay running even though the ignition is off and the key is out.  That
happens for few seconds but eventually shuts down.  Please help.

You have an EVAP issue. The vent is clogged on the fuel neck. You said you replaced everything, what is everything?

Sounds like you have a few things going on. Code P0455 is a large EVAP system leak. Usually a broken or disconnected EVAP system hose or missing gas cap will cause this. With the problem at the gas pump going on and the fact you've been replacing things I'd suspect something is not hooked up correctly. A vent valve that's stuck closed or a clogged vent line or a vent line that's hooked up wrong can cause this. A smoke test may be needed to find the EVAP system leak. It sounds like the leak is causing a lean air to fuel mixture and causing your drivability problems as well. Hope that helps! Jim

TDolby, I have replaced the fuel cap twice, the charcoal canister, the vent solenoid, the purge valve. The only thing left is the fuel tank pressure sensor and the pump itself. Jim, this was helpful. I was hoping that i didn't have to get the smoke test, but I think that i'm going to have to. Thank you.
