High Oil Pressure at operating temps

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am trying to think of possibilities as to why I am seeing high oil pressure. No, its not the gauge, same issue before and after changing the oil and filter, same oil viscosity (5w30), its not the sending unit or pressure sensor...  I am seeing around 35psi at idle, which is good.. But under a load at high(er) rpm, I see 87psi on the data log.  Completely stock 2WD Silverado 1500. Original Engine - LR4 4.8 Liter (VIN code"V").  Almost 90psi of oil pressure, what would cause this?

@lincolnscott49 - i did check the pcv valve and it doesnt have the check valve "ball" in the check valve so if there was a positive pressure in the crankcase i would also see that pressure inside the intake manifold. @Ed92626 - I am familiar with these relief valves on the engines that have DOD (displacement on demand). The extra pressure is relieved from the oil pump for when the engine is running on all 8 cylinders. When the solenoids are triggered, they open and that pressure goes in through the VOLM (Valley Oil Lifter Manifold) and then pressurizes the lifters for the cylinders being deactivated. Besides that... Where could i find the pressure relief valve on a gen III engine? Im guesssing it wall involve another oil change haha..
