Asked by David Mar 06, 2019 at 08:12 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: General

I have recently bought a 2001 GMC Sierra
with two back doors sle and have a 1997
Chevy Silverado and was thinking would it be
a good idea to hold on to the Silverado for
parts so would parts fit from the Silverado to
the Sierra

The only thing that would fit both trucks would be the wheels and the tires and maybe the transmission. Engine, frame, sheet metal, interior, everything was totally new in with the new Silverado in 1999. No interchangeable parts. By the way, your '97 was not a Silverado, it was either a C (2wd) or K(4wd) model. There was an upscale appearance package called Silverado for many years, but it was never a model name until 1999.
