can water get into the transmission torque converter

Water was in the engine and oil and we
dropped the transmission pan and found
signs of water but can’t drain the torque
converter. Can there be water in the torque
converter if so how can we drain it if there is
no drain plug

It's possible for coolant to get into the transmission fluid. There's a transmission fluid cooler in the radiator. If it's rotted out coolant will wind up in the transmission fluid. Best to change the transmission fluid and filter, at least twice to get the coolant out of there. Hope that helps! Jim
