K1500 transmission 97 5.7

I have a 5.7 1997 k1500 with auto
trans. If I put it manually into 1 or 2 it
work work fine but 3 is same as 2, in
drive first will work then when it goes
to shift to 2 it will act like it goes into
neutral for a few seconds then catch
2 real hard and won't leave second,
and suggestions?

do you have any codes? If so can you post them? Not the autozone definitions, I want the code, (ex:p0700.)

P07 xxx is the tranny OBDII assigned code range .I heard of Auto Zone on this site but that is the first time anyone ever mentioned that their sale's technique , that allowed these so called free scans, was to hand out "AutoZone Definitions" and not the real code(s).....[that is good to know ]..........on to the problem ...there might not be a code;it depends on what's acting up....Let Andrew know the codes and he says he will look them up;that is the starting point.....so until then ..t.t.f.n.
