Play in steering

i have a 2000 ss montecarlo with 207k miles...yea i know. i just bought it
into gm and they said it was worn parts so i said to replace them it was a
steering rack and control arm,ball joints loose i had them replaced. and
there is still a side to side play in the steering. they said they checked out
everything that has to do with the steering what else can it be???can any
one help me out? don't really want to spend 1k plus on a problem they
don't want to fix. THANKS!

It could be in the front wheel bearings, or the tires are worn funny, and may need a front and rear end alignment.
