Stuck in gear

Asked by Guru829DN Jan 06, 2020 at 08:17 PM about the 1994 Ford Ranger Splash Extended Cab Stepside 4WD SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a shift repair kit, to remove slop in
the shifting. The old rings were trashed!
Removal was easy, installation easy but it
is stuck in a forward gear and will not shift
anywhere.

Nevermind, I'm fixed. Problem: pulled the shifter pin while the truck was parked in 1st gear. Solution: just rocked the truck back and forth until the shifter 'detents' aligned to neutral. Reinstalled everything and now I am golden!
