I have a 94 bronco 5.8 auto....when I go to shift gears the shifter moved but doesnt actually shift gears...I cannot go from park to drive...I think its the trans but could it be anything else?

There is a shifter cable that probably is broke, it runs from the shifter to the trany if the shifter is not on the column. If the shifter is on the column, look under neath, check linkage connections. May have come apart somewhere.
