2015 Jeep Wrangler soft top with 2 bars inside extending from driver side to passenger side roof. What are they for?

These Bars are to help with arch on the soft top. Without them the soft top will sag in the places where the bars should be. I have never used mine and the only issue is when it rains water pools in those spots. It doesn't leak through the top just sometimes if I forget that it has rained and I roll the windows down before I drive off sometimes I get a nice wet surprise through the window.
