I was cleaning my 1988 Corvette and when I cleaned the end of the door where the lock is I moved the ldoor latch closed and now I caanot shut the door ?

The latch stays in the closed position and I cannot shut the door.

If the latch has been forced into the "closed" position, hold the door opener handle open and use a tool about the size of the catch to force the latch back open. Often a screw driver will work.
