1987 chevy corvette head light problems

I just replaced RH head light motor wihen I turn the lights off RH will close and LH will
open and when turn of lights off LH will close and RH will open.

imagin if you repaired airplanes ! now go back to that headlight motor and reverse the wires

Triple check the wiring and if there are any instructions, re-read them. If you have wire melting, than you don't have a proper fuse and your ground wire and lead wire are crossing somewhere. Check the wires for wear, breaks or open exposed wires that may be shorting out. Keep the old motors as they will be wort something to someone as they can be rebuilt, and it it is a wiring problem, the motor may not be the original issue.

This headlight motor is three wire motor if it was a two wire motor you could switch the wire to change direction of the motor, how ever with three wire motor is not that simple you have position relay to contend with for each motor, I think the magnet are not installed right in the, motor, the polarity is backward magnet are south and north, I think I need rotate the magnets 180 deg that should make motor work in the right direction.
