1984 Chevy corvette burning up alternators, anyone having this problem?

Just bought the car (two months ago), previous owner had just put in a new alternator and battery. Today I drove it and the Alternator has stopped working already

Probably going to be a short in the wiring system,hard to say where,but start by checking the voltage regulator,i think in this model it is not built in to alternator.
