Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I'm looking at trading in for a 1986 Camaro IROC-Z, but have never owned such an old car.  How well do they hold up?  Do they require constant repairs?  I'm in college, so money is an issue.

The thing about buying an older care like that is that it may well have been driven very hard in it's life. Those cars were a lot of fun, and still are, but you will want to look it over good if you can to make sure it's not in too bad a shape. I would usally suspect that the body/underneath as long as it's not rusty should be good to go; it's the engine/tranny/rear-end that get a work out in the sports cars. Personally, if money is what's maily important then I would look at something else. JMHO.

camaros are not good daily drivers, especially older ones. i love both of mine but it takes money to keep em running. get you a 'yota or something reliable before you buy a toy. learn from my mistakes.
