I bought a 1986 iroc z camaro the person i bought it from saya the motor is a
350 that was taken out of a corvette and put in it i know that 1986 stock irocs
had the 305 w tpi but how can i tell if this motor is really out of a corvette

You'll have to rely on casting numbers and engine stamps, best to consult a vette forum for the locations of those and how to ID an engine from them. Part of the VIN serial should be stamped on the engine (the last 6 digits of the VIN), those should correspond to the full VIN of the vette the engine came from. Personally anytime someone tells me something like this I treat it as a story or fairy tale without documented proof.
