does the Subaru Legacy 2005 have cruise control breaking? By that I mean does it break for you while cruise control is active.

Most cruise systems that I know of will engine break with variable valve timing or they'll just let off the gas (but won't make any attempt to slow you down. I don't know of -any- that use the brake system to slow you down. Especially since hitting your brakes will disable the set speed, generally speaking. hth
