i HAVE A 2004 SUBARU LEGACY OUTBACK THAT GETS A PO301 CODE WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON AND THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT BLINKS. THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK WHEN THIS SITUATION IS NOT RESET.

Thanks every one that answered my Question. I found that the problem was a leaky spark plug gasket and old spark plugs. changed out the valve cover gasket and replaced the spark plug gaskets included in the kit and changed the spark plugs. all is now better.
