Indicated interest

I just got one of those, too, and also don't know what I'm supposed to do. Nobody has offered a good answer. I looked on my car posting as if I was a buyer and didn't even see where someone would "express interest". I have no idea what it means. I DID see a question from someone saying they expressed interest (how, I don't know) but wondered why they didn't get a response. After I read that, I responded to my text message just to see what happens. I'll report back if I get an answer. Weird.

No, how about somebody from the company just answer the question here, where people are looking for the answer. For all the good props on the web about CarGurus, their app needs quite a bit of work.

Title_Reguru, the link you posted is not a hyperlink. And when I copy and paste it into the search bar, it does not lead to the answer to this question. I am not going to read through the whole help section to figure out what CarGurus version of Facebook Poke is. This feature feels more like a dating app than it does tool for selling cars.

Yes im in agreement. Car Gurus website is not useful for selling a car unless your a dealer. No one can answer this mysterious "interested" email is about.

I figured out the answer guys. I too was wondering the same thing and went looking for an answer and found myself here. You're sent a notification/email of interest when someone favorites your listing. I found this out by experimenting around.. I sent myself a message stating "is this still available?" and it came through stating the same thing. So I then favorited (hearted) the car and I got another notification saying that I expressed interested in the car. Luckily, not long after this, I had someone else "heart" my car so I responded and they replied, so the messages are going though as well. Sucks we cant get a legit answer from cargurus, but I figured I'd answer for yall. Hope this helps!

So if someone "hearts" your car, is it better to try and pro-actively message them or just wait? Seems like being pro-active might show more desperation to sell the car.

Right @cme4limo, if the buyer "showing interest" is just selecting the car as a favorite, then it may come across as a desperate seller. It's too bad that CarGurus won't confirm that people "showing interest" equals clicking on the car as a favorite versus the ones that are serious buyers who are inquiring. I paid the $25 total to post my car for sale by owner, the extra $20 is to keep my ad at the top of the pages for higher amount of views and in about one week I have only gotten 3 people who favorite it. I have it posted with lots of pictures and a detailed summary at a "Fair Deal" price. We shall see how it goes as this does seem to be a high-traffic website.
