Possible head gasket symptoms

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had a 90's 4x4 Chevy 350 blow head gasket and I
had noticed the speedometer was bouncing
around I think anyway not really sure how long it
had been bouncing around before I actually
noticed it but no it was right before blew the head
gasket so I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed
this because I just bought a 95 jeep Cherokee that
is rust free 146000 mile runs great but was getting
hot first couple time I drove didn't go far with but
noticed speedometer bouncing around also so I
checked fluids no milky oil but was low on
antifreeze in total between radiator and reservoir
tank added lil more than a gallon to top off and
once did that fixed over heating and the
speedometer stopped bouncing around haven't
drove alot since but I'm just wondering if anyone
has noticed this and if the jeep is about to have
blown gasket also

the coolant went somewhere. blown gasket or not, it may just be a leak. if no milky oil then it is not head gasket. do you have any discoloration of your exhaust? White from tail pipe means coolant and blue smoke means oil. Are you leaking anything on the ground? try idling the car and looking for these.
