Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 99 Isuzu has been rebuilt about a year ago it was doing
great until well I punctured the transmission cooler which i
thought was my ac which didn't work so I didn't care . my wife
drove it for 3 days after and one day she said it wouldn't pass
3rd gear and wouldn't go in reverse .is there an easy fix
besides replacining the cooler . what else might have went
wrong to my tranny?

Well you could have burned it up, but you won't know that until you fix the leak. The quickest way would be to bypass the stock cooler and put in a good aftermarket cooler, I know there not much room out front but it will accommodate a cooler, I put one on my Isuzu, but I did have to remove the center grill support, but I made some much shorter brackets so the grill didn't move about excessively. It's tight work but it will go, the biggest headache was running the new cooler hoses, you just have to find the best track then make sure they stay away from anything hot or moving.

So if I did burn it up .what would it take to fix that ?

The transmision will have to be removed and disassembled to see if it is rebuildable and didn't ruin the case, if it did then the tranny would have to be replaced.
