question about the odometer reading

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

Is a big deal if the dealership list the odometer at 18,000 when it is actually
19,100.

Personally I believe it could be a typo, an honest mistake. Or they may have had the car awhile and people have driven it. That would be a red flag! If, for example, it's been on their lot for 6 months and people have test driven it why hasn't it sold? To be sure, run a vehicle history report, such as Carfax, and look for evidence of odometer tampering. HTH. -Jim

I agree with the previous reply...you may be looking at a Big Red Flag. 1100 miles is an awful long test drive. I would guess someone bought it and brought it back in a month. Being unable to get a refund, they swapped it out for another vehicle. Checking the Carfax report is a very good idea.
