Electrical issue
1992 F150 5.0 2WD. Automatic. Hard to
start, makes click noise as if battery is
dead. Once started the amp gauge goes
nuts, bounces around! If you turn the
headlights on it instantly cuts off. Battery
tested 100%. Replaced alternator and also
discovered nothing wrong with the old one.
Voltage regulator is in the alternator so
that's ok. Any suggestions? Thank you!

And you checked all grounds to frame? And you have no extra wires running to power hot wires like lights, radio, cb, amps ect?

Thanks for your time and answer! My truck is 100% stock except for headers and flowasters. No additional accessories added. Nothing pulling additional current. Can you tell me where all the grounds are. Not with truck now but will look as soon as I get to it. Thanks again!

From battery to frame and engine to frame, battery terminals & terminal wires may be corroded/bad/loose on either ends. May have a short somewhere.

Thanks I'll check it out tonight and definitely let you know if that's the cause of the evilness!

And look for bad/loose electrical connectors/connections. May be a loose/bad connection or wire in or to dash cluster or fuse panel too and may be a frame/body ground in that area too. Since light are having and issue check for the grounds for them, may be either ground or power wire touching each other or metal. May can do a parasitic drain test when running to see which circuit is affected and trace the issue down if all the alt/battery/grounds connections are good/not bad. Check youtube for parasitic drain test procedures for that model if possible as some test should not be done on newer cars/trucks. Locating the circuit its on will greatly help in locating the issue.
