Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 honda accord,
haven't had any problems then 2
days ago it wouldn't start but all
the lights and radio came on. My
friend thought it was the starter
so we bought a new one and
replaced it, still nothing. He
banged it a few times hoping it
would turn but it's not even
trying to crank. Today we tried
turning it over and now it's
making a clicking sound and
everything on the dash is just
flashing as it tried to crank but
still not turning over. Not sure
what else it could be?

I think your battery is weak. Try jump starting the car but you should have the battery and the alternator tested. Make sure the battery connections are clean and tight.

We tried to jump it and still did nothing. Would it still try to turn over if the battery is weak if being jumped?

Sometimes starter could be defective(shaft too short)it will not reach the flywheel/flexoplate, try compairing the old starter with the old one that you've replaced, look in the inside shaft and compare the two starters.

Check the battery connections but sometime a bad battery will prevent a jump start.
