Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1992 Ford Ranger that sometimes
will not start. When I turn the key it just
makes a one time single click sound. The
inside lights and outside lights all come on
okay but slightly dim. Only way it will start
when it does this, is if I try to push start it
and it tries to kick over but won't. However,
after it does that and I try to start it again, it
starts right up. Could it be the fly wheel or
starter or solenoid ?

I think your battery is weak or maybe the battery terminals are corroded or loose or the starter armature has a bad spot on it. Clean things up and maybe have the battery and alternator tested. If that does not take care of the problem have the starter tested and make sure the starter wires connections are good.

I will gladly give that a try and thank you ever so very much for the help, I'll let ya know if it works out Thank you
