2000 dodge ram 1500 4x4 ...hard shifting between
second and third... sometimes stalls out in reveres

You could try a transgo valve body correction kit but transmission are not really a over net get a fix. I really need to know what the pressures are at idle, in drive, and when driving. The stalling could be a hole other problem in its self. Does the motor seem to labor to make it back up. Maybe like you had forward and reverse applied at the same time ?
