Mitsubishi outlander not starting

My mitsubishi outlander dies not start . If it starts it
sometimes slows down and does not accelerate.  
The is an engine malfunction  light and various
messages keep coming up.  The secure company
says faulty ECU.  The car has been trouble free for
5 years and a new ECU is not available with service
people. What to do?

If it's the "ECU" they are all available or can be repaired. Have it read for codes, even if the check engine light is NOT on the computer will have stored information and codes. Discount auto stores will read codes for no fee. write them down.
