Question type: General

i want a car- old or new- that can drive 90-100mph for long periods of time
without causing damage to the engine and other parts.   which cars are known
for taking that sort of abuse?

Any performance car can do this. 90 is no big deal at all, almost any car can cruise at that speed.

hi. not all cars can go for hours and hours at 90+ mph- think road trip- without some kind of ware and tare being detrimental to the longevity of the engine. idk a lot about cars but i kno that some engines are far better than others at taking abuse. can u list some cars for me please besides just saying "almost any car can cruise at that speed?"- i kno cars can drive at that speed and feel fine but i'm talking about days and days of driving high speeds for 6-12 hours a day. some cars have to be better for for that sort of driving. thanks

My personal opinion, Toyotas and Hondas are the ones that can take the most beating. Others that have come a long way are the Kias and Hyundais with best warranty of 10 years or 100k miles just make sure to keep up with the maintenance for clean oil and proper level and type.

thank you for your answer, irodi911. i've only owned asian vehicles over the last 20 years bc i kno they're known for lasting longer than other makers. i will look into hundai as long as longevity goes. i am aware of their warranties being the best in the game and have been for some years now. i am surprised at how leaking my 2001 subaru outback is. other than the leaks i love the car. it was leaking badly at 140k. is that normal? the price to fix it was insane.

Usually leaks are caused by lack of routine maintenance and or overheat issues. Specially if u like driving as fast as u previously mentioned.

F_O_R -- yes- the research i've done says what ur saying- soobs have serious head gasket issues and subaru has never done a proper recall on it. BUT--- my soob also leaks tranny fluid like crazy, so.... so "buy a honda or a toyota" seems to b the best answer so far, which i already live by. i was hoping a car guru would give me some inside info hahaha. i think i just abuse cars.

F_O_R - hahaha it's funny bc all the subaru owners i kno SWEAR by them. and i only got it bc my Xgf owed me money for over a decade and ended up giving me the car to pay off the debt. it was already leaking when she gave it to me, but the fact that someone got anything from an X after 10 years is pretty much unheard of so i think i deserve a reward or something hahaha. i've only bought toyota and honda accept for VW i bought 20 years ago which i only drove home and never drove again. my friends took the engine out and then it sat there until i ended up selling it without the engine a year or so later.
