The 3.8 L OHV Essex V6 is the base engine in 2000. A new split-port induction system had 190 hp at 5250 rpm and 220 torque at 2750 rpm. In 2001, Ford added Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) to the V6, increasing the engine's output to 193 hp at 5500 rpm and 225 torque at 2800 rpm. I'm not sure if the engine management system is the same or not, but i recommend further research.
