My seat on my 1999 Pontiac grand am wont recline because the handle broke so is there another way to recline seat

Replace the handle or use a pair of channel lock pliers or vice grips to turn the handle base.

I have been using channel locks on my drivers seat and now the plastic pin that I have been grabbing onto has basically broken away into many pieces. What do I do now? The cable on the inner side seems to have come unattached also....
