Anyone know what would cause one brake light to work and not the other?

I have a 86 Dodge Ram 150 left brake light works but not the right.Everything else works fine turn,tail work fine on the right just no brake light

take a test light and check more than likley a bad ground or socket. cleaned and replace bulb.
