I believe there is a cross member attached to the frame with bolt holes to attach the seat to. The floors were metal, but not thick enough to hold the seat by itself. Find another 58 GM car and if you can, go under and look. Then again I may be wrong and the cross member may be inside the car on top; of the floor pan. I claim bad memory due to age.
