Truck wont shift out of park?

check and make sure your linkage to the transmission hasent came unhooked.

I had an issue like this on my 97' k1500. The problem for me was in the actual shifting console. Just under the right side of the steering column there is a piece of pot metal that is pivotal to the actual shifting. For me that metal snapped somehow. Fairly easy fix if that is indeed the problem.

Also check to make sure the pin that locks the steering wheel actually slides out of the slot when the ignition lock is turned to run.
