What is the difference between a Chevy 1500 6 ft bed and a 2500 he 6ft bed

The actual bed itself? are you looking to replace a bed?

A 1500 series truck is a 1/2 ton truck. A 2500 series is a 3/4 ton truck. Those distinctions are based on vintage cargo capacities. Today's trucks can haul more than the old 1/2 ton..3/4 ton...one ton cargos. But the names stuck. A 2500HD has a beefier suspension placed under it than a standard 2500. The basic principal is still the same...the higher the model number...the more capacity you can haul or tow (with the right engine combined)

I know the difference between the trucks. I've been around cars n trucks all my life..my dad owns a used car dealer ship. My hd bed is rotted out n I found a nice bed really cheap but it's a 1500 bed. N from what I here the bolt patterns r different.

You should look and do a bit of measurements. If the cabs are the same, the bolt holes on the frame should be able to fit it. Most of the frames are made to fit all builds so even if the 1500 is different, the frame should have holes to fit.

The guy I checked with says he had swapped 8 foot beds around from 1500's, 2500's and 3500's (with single rear axles) and never had a problem. He doesn't see why the shortbeds would be any different. The problem that could occur is model year changes from the classic truck to the new model that was introduced, (maybe in 2007). Other than that even if the bolt holes don't line up it should only be a matter of drilling the frame...there should be no conflict with other equipment along the frame rail.
