2017 dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi: when the eco light goes on does that mean it's in MDS mode?

Eco light means it is running in 4 cylinder MDS mode. When sufficient load is placed on the engine such as going up a slight grade, the engine will switch back to all 8 cylinders and the Eco light will go out. Please note that when in trailer / haul mode the ECO MDS system does not activate.

I have a 2014 Ram so I am well acquainted with the ECO function. Reading the manual should answer any other questions.

I have a 2017 Ram 1500 with the MDS. I do not see the Eco light but I feel n hear when it is operating on 4 cyl. Am I doing something wrong?

I have a 2017 and it comes on in tow/haul mode the only way I have found to shut it off is to put it in manual mode it will still go through all the gears if placed into 8th gear and all the shaking and most of the hesitation will go away! I wish it was always off and it had a button to turn it on!
