The 4wd shifter case is loose on my DODGE RAM ? At the same time I noticed this, I can't get it to start, tried to jump it, still won't start. What could be the problem and are they connected

Are you saying the transfer case is coming loose? What year truck and what type of transmission do you have?

It is automatic, 2002, and the 4wd shifter you can move up and down with ease, like it is not attached anymore
